PD Walkers Report
Congratulations PD Walkers 2010 Team!!! The 2010 PD Walkers Team raised just under $14,000 to donate to the IA APDA. Thank you to all of our supporters, donors and members for a very successful 2010 fundraising effort. We will be participating in the Des Moines Marathon again in 2011 with more opportunities to be a part of our team!!

PD Walkers 2010 Team ROCKS it AGAIN!!
Thanks to you, the 3rd Annual PD Walkers at the Des Moines Marathon was another success!!
We had 78 teammates participate in the 2010 Des Moines Marathon:
- 2 ran the full marathon (26.2 miles)
- John Lindquist, "Runnin' for Ron"… to fight PD in honor of friends who inspire him every day by continuing to live bravely with Parkinson's, and in honor of my dad, Ron, who fought Parkinson's for over 20 years."
- Zachary Norgren, "… running in memory of Grandma Helen who passed away from Parkinson's four years ago after fighting it for over twenty. After all that she has done to inspire me in my lifetime this is the least I can do to give back to her and her memory."
- 38 walked or ran the half marathon (13.1 miles)

22 years ago Brian Town's dad, Rick, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. "We have seen this disease progress in our dad and want to fight this disease together and be "committed to the cure" as we do our part in raising money for research. We hope that a cure is found in my dad's lifetime so he can regain what this disease has taken away from him."

With your participation and support we are able to continue to help the Iowa Chapter of American Parkinson Disease Association. The IA Chapter helps fund the Iowa Information and Referral Parkinson Disease Center, helps with local educational conferences, helps Iowa PD Support groups and many more PD activities through the year. The Chapter also donates to the National Chapter to fund research to find a cure.
